Hyenas and onyx of the protected refuge in the Emirates

We now head to Si Bani Yas, an island that was made to be a refuge for the wildlife, like the arab oryx.

We met Amy, who's in charge of the predator area : indeed, the arab oryx was extinct in UAE but reintroduced so well that now there is too much ! Amy is then controlling the population by the hyenas, another endangered animal.

When we met her, one of the hyenas just went out of its place, so she had to shoot it with an anesthetic to make it sleep, and then to move it delicately back to its original place.

At its wake up, the hyena was a bit lost : it did not see nor feel when Amy shot it, so it was like a curious dream to wake up somewhere else !
